JOE DEL PRIORE

Joe Del Priore is both a provincially and nationally Certified Athletic Therapist.

Born & raised in St. Catharines, Joe’s interest and passion in sports and health lead him to attend Brock University to complete an Honors degree in Community Health Sciences, with post-graduate work at Sheridan College in Athletic Therapy. As a life-long learner, Joe continues to further his education in the field, most recently with a focus on concussion and vertigo assessment and treatment, fascial chain and soft tissue release, cupping massage, and orthopedic bracing and custom taping.

Over the past twenty years, Joe has worked in various clinics with a wide range of clients. Although his specialty is within sports therapy, Joe’s education and hands-on experience has provided him with the ability to treat patients of all ages and conditions. From children to adults, novice to professional athletes, weekend warriors to active seniors, Joe is committed and capable of supporting each individual’s recovery and personal goals.

WHAT IS ATHLETIC THERAPY

Employing a sport medicine model, Athletic Therapy includes assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and education. In fact, Athletic Therapy views patient education as a crucial cornerstone to a healthy and speedy recovery. Athletic Therapy protocol includes manual therapy, modalities, exercises, learning how to prevent re-injury and learning about lifestyle factors that can help you get back to doing what you love faster.

While Athletic Therapists are best known for their quick-thinking on-field emergency care of professional and elite athletes, in reality they treat a wide range of patients. From kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, Athletic Therapists always work to help their patients get back doing what they love whether it is playing sports or being able to roll around on the carpet with the grandkids. Athletic Therapists rehabilitate injuries incurred from sports, recreation, daily activities, workplace and motor vehicle accidents.
